
Steven James Apedaile – Managing Director
Steve has worked in the accounting profession for nearly 40 years, 25 years of which were spent in Hong Kong with the first 7 years with KPMG HK and then 18 years with Horwath HK. In his position as Senior Audit Partner, Steve’s experience included management advice, risk analysis, strategic planning, public listings, forensic accounting, M&A and general business advice. Steve served on the Member Review Committee of Horwath International for 3 years performing quality control and risk assessments on a number of Asian based member firms. Steve also served for two terms (2 years) on the Hong Kong Society of Accountants Audit Standards Review Committee.
From 2002 to 2005 Steve specialised in forensic accounting and established Horwath Matrimonial to provide services to Solicitors and their clients to assist in the identification of the total matrimonial estate both from an asset and income point of view.
From 2005 to 2013 Steve was the Chairman and then Managing Director of Sprintex Limited (ASX:SIX), head quartered in Perth, an automotive group specialising in superchargers .As Managing Director Steve’s key achievements were to list the company on the Australian Securities Exchange and to establish a Joint Venture manufacturing facility in Malaysia.
Steve founded Sirius Corporate Services (HK) Limited in 2014 with offices in Hong Kong, Melbourne and Perth. Steve is the Managing Director of Sirius HK . Steve has acted as an Expert Witness and acted as a Single and Joint Expert in a number of Family law assignments involving business valuations, asset tracking and recovery, expenditure analysis and Duxbury calculations and advising on business, partnership and shareholder disputes.
Steve is a Non-Executive Director of Nanoveu Limited (ASX: NVU).Nanoveu develops and commercialises Nano-imprint science products. Its first product, EyeFly3D, enables 3D images and videos to be viewed on smart phones and tablets. Nanoveu listed on the ASX in November 2018.

Ferry Choy – Director
Ferry commenced his career in PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2004, in Assurance Department.
Ferry commenced his valuation career in 2008. Ferry joined Sallmanns Limited in 2008 which (subsequently became Jones Lang LaSalle Corporate Appraisal and Advisory Limited), whose activities include the preparation of valuation reports and provision of independent valuation services for financial reporting or transaction purposes.
Ferry joined Greater China Appraisal Limited in 2010. Before his leave, he was the director of business valuation department.
Ferry established Flagship Consulting in 2015 and commenced Business Valuation Services and Corporate Consultancy Services business.
Ferry joined Sirius Corporate Services (HK) Limited as a Director in 2016 and works out of the Hong Kong office.

Michael Smith – Director
Michael commenced his career in Chartered Accounting in 1980 in Audit and Accounting Services and was for several years a Senior Audit Manager at Frank Jones & Associates. Michael joined Horwath & Horwath in 1994 as a Senior Manager, dividing his duties between the Audit Division and Forensic Accounting Services Division. He was appointed partner in January 1998. Horwath Chartered Accountants merged with BDO on 2 April 2007.
Michael commenced the Forensic Accounting Services Division at Horwath in 1997 (which subsequently became BDO), whose activities include the preparation of Experts Reports and provision of Expert Witness services for Court Cases in a wide range of litigation matters, including Breach of Contract, Partnership and Shareholder Disputes, and Family Law relating to quantification of loss and damage, assessment of business value and investigations of financial matters. This experience includes appearances in Federal, Supreme, County and Family Courts.
Michael has in excess of twenty five years transactional experience. He specialises in Corporate Finance services including advisory strategic planning regarding mergers and acquisitions, sale of business lead advisory, buy side advisory, capital raisings and due diligence reports. His industry experience is broad, covering property, agribusiness, mining, paper and printing, automotive component manufacturing, retail and financial services.
Whilst Michael’s client base is diverse, he predominantly specialises in medium to large private companies with transaction sizes varying from $5 million to in excess of $500 million.
Michael joined ShineWing accountants in 2012 and commenced the Corporate Advisory and Forensic Services division.
Michael established CFAS Advisory in 2014 and commenced the Corporate Advisory and Forensic Services business.
Michael receives appointments by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, other accountants and legal advisors to act as an Independent Expert in private disputes and litigation matters.

Eileen Chan – Director
Eileen has 30 years of experience in the accounting profession, of which more than 18 years were spent in international accounting firms in Hong Kong and Australia providing auditing, financial due diligence and forensic accounting services, and 10 years in Australia providing corporate finance and restructuring services specialising in complex external administration engagements.
From 2005 to 2008, while Eileen was an audit partner of Horwath Hong Kong, she also led the firm’s Matrimonial Advisory Division, specialising in the provision of forensic accounting services to solicitors and their clients to assist in the identification of the total matrimonial estate both from an asset and income point of view.
Eileen joined Sirius Corporate Services(HK) Limited as a director since 2019 and works out of the Hong Kong office.
During 2010 to May 2018, Eileen was a managing director at FTI Australia providing corporate advisory/restructuring services, when she also provided forensic accounting and investigation services. Recent forensic experience in Australia included assisting the accounting expert witness in a construction dispute related to a big mining project in Australia, appointed in several family law disputes to provide an opinion on the value of the business or to respond to business valuation expert reports and assessments of losses in commercial disputes.
Prior to working as a corporate advisory professional, Eileen was the Chief Financial Officer of a specialised automotive group, head quartered in Perth listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, from 2008 to 2010.
Eileen is proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Eileen joined Sirius Corporate Services (HK) Limited as a director from June 2019.

Yuann Leow – Senior Consultant
Yuann has worked over 12 years with Horwath, which merged with BDO and then Grant Thornton. She has experience in corporate finance, forensic accounting, audit and assurance services. Yuann’s areas of specialisation include Corporate Finance and Forensic Services.
Yuann joined ShineWing in 2013 and joined CFAS Advisory from its establishment 2014.
Her law qualification and solid understanding of the legal system has been particularly beneficial in the provision of litigation support services for matters in the Family Court, Federal Court, Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court and mediation. She has experience in various litigation matters from valuation of businesses to assessment of loss and damage to critique of expert reports, including the preparation of expert witness reports.
In relation to Corporate Finance, her analytical skills in valuation, due diligence and preparation of financial models are applied extensively for private businesses within the manufacturing and retail sectors. She also has experience in the business sales of various companies.
Yuann is well regarded for her commerciality and adding value to her clients by providing them with proactive advice and recommendations.

Wai-Kit Lau (Anson) – Senior Consultant
Mr. Lau Wai Kit, CFA, FRM, has over seven years of experience in the business consulting industry, with a focus on business valuation services. He currently holds the position of Senior Consultant of Sirius Corporate Services(HK) Limited(“Sirius”) and Associate Director of Flagship Consulting (Hong Kong) Limited(“Flagship”). He is responsible for leading our valuation team to deliver business and intangible asset valuation services.
Prior to joining Sirius and Flagship, Anson worked in KPMG Transaction Advisory as a manager. He led valuation engagements for multinational corporate clients including JP Morgan, Hainan Airlines, Daimler AG, Telstra International, Leighton Asia, China Resources Holdings and China Everbright Limited.
Before joining KPMG, he also worked as a manager and assistant manager in Cushman & Wakefield and BMI Appraisals where he earned valuation experience in industries including information technology, waste management, agriculture, logistics, oil & gas exploitation, and coal mining.
Previous to the career in the valuation industry, Anson was a financial analyst in Shun Tak Holdings Limited. He was involved in the corporate investment projects in the company. He was responsible for performing financial analysis, project due diligence, and strategic planning.

Kingston Wong – Senior Consultant
Kingston is a Chartered Accountant with over 12 years’ experience, specialising in financial modelling, data analytics, transaction support and corporate finance.
Having worked for three years in finance and operations roles within professional services firms, his advice is highly valued by clients who appreciate his ability to combine commercial pragmatism with strong technical knowledge, and distil these into strategically actionable recommendations.
With his mathematical and engineering background, Kingston has assisted in the review and analysis of complex financial, accounting and operational data for a number of leading ASX listed corporations and financial institutions. Riley Lengrand – Senior Consultant
Riley commenced his career in accounting in 1998, in audit services at the Office of the Auditor General.
Riley has over 16 years’ experience in corporate finance services including sale of business lead advisory, buy side advisory and sophisticated investor capital raisings, working with a range of Corporate and Private Equity investors. Riley has also completed due diligence engagements for both purchaser and vendor across a broad range of industries.
Riley is experienced in advising on Shareholder Disputes and Family Law matters relating to quantification of loss and damage, assessment of business value and investigations of financial matters.

Rod Ansell – Senior Consultant
Rod commenced his career in 1979 in Audit at Frank Jones and Associates and progressed to Audit Manager before transitioning to Tax and Business Services as Tax Manager. Rod worked for 16 years at Frank Jones and Associates gaining experience across a broad range of clients and industries in Trusts, Partnerships, Joint Ventures and Company structures.
Rod has 22 years’ experience working in finance with the Walt Disney Company (Australia) Pty Ltd, including 12 years as Finance Director, a top 20 Global company in the Studio Division for Australia/New Zealand. Rod’s experience included Budgeting, Forecasting, 5 Year Planning, Contract negotiation, Product analysis, Financial reporting (local and US), Customer Profitability Analysis as well as Managing the Local Taxation and Statutory obligations for a number of years.
Rod was involved in the design and implementation of a number of Global Forecasting systems and ERP implementations as well as liaising with the US Company Head Office on Corporate Treasury, Taxation and Reporting.
Rod has now returned to the profession working in forensic accounting utilising his experience in both private and public companies together with his commercial experience whilst at the Walt Disney Company.

Sheridan Cheel – Senior Consultant
Sheridan has experience in corporate finance, forensic accounting, audit and assurance services. Her roles in the not-for profit sector enhanced her reporting and practical understanding of business operations.
In relation to Corporate Finance, her analytical skills in valuations and preparation of financial models are applied extensively for private businesses.

Steven has worked for CFAS Advisory since its inception in 2014. He has experience in corporate finance in both buyer and seller side private business acquisitions and financial modelling.
